Steve Parrish popped in, donned his overalls, and got stuck into stripping his FZ750 down to the frame. The 30 year old Yamaha is in need of some serious restoration, particularly as someone has has a go at it with an emulsion brush and couple of tins of Hammerite at some point! Steve’s old mechanic is busy machining some new rear sets, and the frame is about to be sent off for refinishing. This one is going to need a bit more than just some spit and polish. The boys at Superbike magazine have left us this rather sorry looking Yamaha R1, which has been used, abused, and crashed too many times to mention. Maria Costello – ER-6 Supertwin
Maria Costello dropped by this week to leave her Kawasaki ER6 Supertwin with us for a strip and rebuild following her Mallory Park crash at the backend of last season. The ‘Pizza Race Bike’, as it is affectionately known, wasn’t too badly damaged, but will still need the frame checking and re-powder coating, rear shock servicing, clocks, and fairing bracket replacing and plenty of cleaning before being rebuilt in time for it’s first outing.
